Sewing Projects in Progress 3

I am continuing to work my way through my stash of fabric scraps. I've made a variety of pillow covers, tissue holders, and bags.

And I've matched up most of my assorted zippers with fabrics to make more zipper bags.

The good news: I have used up about two thirds of my cotton fabric scraps.

The bad news: I don't know what I am going to do with all these things.

    1. That is a possibility. We might be hosting a charity craft fair at work, and I could sell them there.

  2. Give them out to trick-or-treaters? LOL Just kidding. Mostly. ;)

I would totally buy a bunch from you if you sold them, though. If you didn't want to do a shop online, you could do mystery grab bags for your readers, maybe?

    1. I've considered that, actually. :) I usually make little fabric bags tied with a ribbon for the trick-or-treaters, but I could do zipper bags instead this year.

The problem with selling online is I don't enjoy the process - taking and editing photos, posting, writing descriptions, etc. - so eventually it takes the fun out of making things. I'd be happy to divvy them out to my readers, and mystery grab bags would be a great way to do that.

    2. I totally get that! I had an Etsy shop for a short while and after the novelty of my first couple of sales wore off, I found myself not enjoying the process or work involved so I stopped.

But if you do mystery grab bags for you readers, definitely consider me in!

    1. It has been fun. :) And it's satisfying to see the scrap stash diminishing.

  5. Personally I like to grab specific things- skulls and skeletons are my favorites. So if you do sell them, would it be possible to get ones of a requested type? I.e "black or skeletons" or "multi colored with bats" and that can be still a mystery? I for one loved the tote you made-both skeleton prints made me happy and I'd buy something dark made with those. A little zipper pouch or something.

    1. Yes, that's precisely what I would do. :) A reader could tell me which themes and colors are preferred, and I'd do my best to choose appropriate items. Or I might assemble items into themed groups, and the reader could pick one.

  6. My my, quite the prolific one! How I would love that have that motivation and drive!
I would say sell them too, but I do agree with the above sentiments you already voiced that selling online is a rather tedious task. But a craft fair, I think you would "fair" well, hah! ;)

    1. Motivation is feast or famine for me. I'm trying to take advantage of the feast while it lasts.

It's fair to say I'd fare fairly well at a fair. ;)

  7. Set up your paypal, take a picture of all them in one and start selling to readers. just keep a lit of the ones left updated and that way you only have to take one picture. I would love to buy one or more myself.

    1. Yes, I'll do something along those lines, either with individual items or grab bags.
