Quick Update

Hello! Just a quick post to say I'm still here.

Progress has been made with remodeling my bathroom. The new flooring, new toilet, and new vanity, sink, and faucet have been installed. The baseboards and door casing have been painted and are ready to install. I have most of the accessories ready to go in - shower curtain, rugs, towel hooks, etc. I just need to find a new mirror. The bathroom is going to look very different than I'd originally hoped for - more White Efficient Practicality than Dark Gothic Glamour. :( But it will be a huge relief to have it finished. I'll try to post about it soon!

I'll be going in for surgery in about two weeks. Hopefully, I will be able to quickly return to projects and posting. Please bear with me in the meantime.

  4. And if you are not happy in a year you can always try to gothify it a bit more :-) I'm sure it will look great! And good luck for the surgery!

    1. Thank you! I have a few ideas to goth it up a bit. I don't hate the simple IKEA-type look, but it's weird to have an almost entirely "off the shelf" room with very little DIY.

  5. I've never commented, but I've been a reader for a few years. I've always loved your posts and updates. I like that you not only post GIY stuff, but also life updates. Our little Zackery is getting older and your posts about Bean have been a bit comforting. It's not a happy experience to watch your baby grow into their golden year quicker than you're ready for, but it's good to know you're not the only one that has had to go through it. I'm sorry you have to have surgery. I hope you recover quickly. You've always been an inspiration for me. You've got so many awesome ideas. We just bought our first house and I've already shown my fiancé so many of your posts. I look forward to seeing what you've done with the bathroom. I also miss your sewing posts. I want to attempt the reusable shopping bag one as soon as I get my hands on some new Halloween fabric. :)

    1. Thanks for writing. Such wonderful things, I hardly know how to respond! :)

It is hard watching your pet age. But the memories of their life are very special. Indigo is the same breed as Bean Sidhe, and some of her traits bring back those memories... which only makes her more dear to me. :)

I miss sewing! The bathroom remodel took over for too long, but I worked like a fiend this weekend to finish it. I've finally cleared all that stuff out, and I'm looking forward to doing some sewing.

  6. In my opinion, bathrooms are the hardest to gothyfy. They are generally rather white and clean... Whatever you did, it probably improved the bathroom like a 1000%!

    1. Indeed. And really, white and clean are not bad things to have in a bathroom. The function and storage of the room are greatly improved. :)
